WEW has operated the DIN ISO 9000 system since 1998. This gives our customers the following advantages:
  • Clearly defined processes and practices, clearly-defined employee training
  • Clear lines of responsibility to ensure efficiency in internal order-handling
  • Documentation on important processes, to ensure transparency in product characteristics
  • Measuring systems control procedures ensure that only tested and calibrated measuring equipment is used in the production area
  • ISO certification codifies key performance data measurement, QMS, processes and the organisation’s targets
  • Focused training to ensure continual employee development

Welding technology is central to any pressure vessel manufacturer’s business and product quality. Therefore, WEW’s  welding inspection and control system follows all relevant processes according to DIN EN ISO 3834, Teil 2 "Qualitätsanforderungen für das Schmelzschweißen metallischer Werkstoffe" (DIN EN 729 Pt 2, fusion welding of metal materials – comprehensive quality standards). The basic components of this are an integral part of WEW’s quality management system and are subject to external audit. Some examples of areas covered are:

  • Welding personnel (suitable welding inspector, coded welder)
  • Testing personnel (for destructive and non-destructive testing)
  • Testing and maintenance of welding equipment
  • Use of production and welding plans, and of welding instructions
  • Storage of welding consumables, respectively dry storage of welding flux and welding rods

Lloyd's Register undertake independent inspections to ensure adherence.  WEW also works on approvals with other testing organisations: Germanischer Lloyd, Bureau Veritas, TÜV, Det Norske Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping, amongst others.

WEW only employs qualified craftsmen (three year apprenticeship after leaving school/college) for welding, assembly and metalwork. The high qualification and knowledge levels mean the craftsmen are able to independently solve very complex jobs to the highest quality standard.
